On December 2, 2021 Chardan hosted a Leadership Call featuring Renovacor management, Magdalene Cook, MD, President & CEO; Marc Semigran, MD, CMO; and Matt Killeen, PhD, CSO. Geulah Livshits, PhD, Senior Research Analyst moderated.

Renovacor is a preclinical stage biotechnology company based on research from the lab of company Founder, Prof. Arthur Feldman at Temple University with a focus in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). The company is advancing a pipeline of proprietary adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based gene therapies with lead program REN-001 (AAV9-based gene therapy) designed to deliver a functional BAG3 gene to cardiomyocytes for the treatment of DCM patients harboring BAG3 aberrations. The biology of BAG3-associated DCM is well-defined and supportive haploinsufficient animal models have been established. IND-enabling studies for REN-001 are ongoing and the company expects to begin clinical trials in 2022. Additional opportunities for cardiovascular and CNS diseases driven by BAG3 haploinsufficiency may present future opportunities for the company.
